Volunteer Training Sessions

There are THREE EASY STEPS to becoming a Youth Challenge VOLUNTEER:

  1. RSVP for a training session (see dates below).
  2. Complete the training.
  3. Sign up for programs after the training.

Trainings are offered prior to each program season.  Sessions are led by YC staff and prepare new volunteers to assist participants at activities.  At each training we will discuss the mission and culture of Youth Challenge, who our participants are, and the rules and responsibilities for each YC volunteer; do some hand-on activities that review best practices for working with our participants; and go through the program sign-up process.

NEXT SESSIONS:

UPDATE: SUMMER TRAINING SESSIONS ARE CANCELLED
Due to the situation surrounding COVID-19, our programs this summer will look a lot different.  This includes much smaller numbers of people at each activity.  Because of this, we are focusing our efforts are maximally utilizing our current volunteers and brainstorming different ways to engage them safely.  While we figure all this out, we are unfortunately holding off on recruiting NEW volunteers.  Stay tuned for future sessions!

Only ONE training session is required.

NOTE: space at each training is LIMITED so volunteers MUST RSVP to reserve your spot!  Training is only required ONCE.

If you would like to register for a training or if you have any questions, please contact Director of Program & Volunteer Services, Sarah Cooney at scooney@youthchallengesports.com or call (440) 892-1001. x.14.

After completing the training, new volunteers will be placed on our mailing list to receive seasonal news and registration information.
