Volunteer Training Sessions

Completion of a training session is required of all volunteers new to YC.  Sessions are open prior to each program season…but act quickly because SPACE IS LIMITED!

Volunteers have the option of doing a VIRTUAL training OR an IN PERSON training at various times throughout the year.

The training sessions are created by YC staff to prepare new volunteers to assist participants at activities. Our training will discuss the mission and culture of Youth Challenge, our participants and their various disabilities, the rules and responsibilities for each YC volunteer, best practices for adapting and working with our participants, our program sign-up process and MORE!

With our virtual training option, trainees will have a specific time period to watch a SERIES OF VIDEOS. There’ll be a quick QUIZ after each video that volunteers must pass in order to complete their training.

Once we receive your registration for the training sessions and your selection of the preference of doing the training virtually or in person, you will be sent more information. Virtual Trainees will receive direct links to the training videos and a PDF of our training packet.

Our upcoming IN PERSON trainings will happen in the Fall. Those trainings are TBD.

After completing a training, new volunteers will be placed on our mailing list to receive seasonal news and program sign-up info season after season.

Our Next Virtual Volunteer Training will open in the Fall to prepare volunteers for the Winter. Once trained, you may also be able to sign up for some programs this Fall based off where we have a need for volunteers. Please register below and be sure to select which training option is the best fit for you.

We will have more in person trainings in the Fall. The next VIRTUAL volunteer training will open in the Summer to prepare volunteers for Fall programs. More information will be sent to you then.

Space at trainings each season is LIMITED. Once we receive your registration we will send an email to confirm you are registered along with IMPORTANT INFORMATION and NEXT STEPS.
