Youth Challenge will host “The Rebound: A Wheelchair Basketball Documentary” on October 18, 6:00—8:30 p.m. “The Rebound” is an award-winning documentary following the underdog journey of the Miami Heat Wheels wheelchair basketball team in their quest for a national championship.

Come and be part of an adapted basketball clinic before the film from 5:00–6:00 p.m. Following the film, Team USA and Team YC representatives Bre Sprenger (swimming) and Nelya Schasfoort (track and field) will discuss their respective athletic journeys.

The film is subtitled, CART will be provided, service animals are welcome, parking is free and YC is wheelchair accessible. To request other accommodations contact

Youth Challenge and Shaker High School Hockey Team invite Shaker Youth Hockey players and families to the 4th annual “Adapted Ice Breaker.”
Event admission is free for the whole family!

4:15-5:15 “Lace up!” with the SHHS Hockey Team
All ages welcome to participate. Pass, shoot and score with the team!  $20 donation information below.

5:15-6:15 Competitive “pay to play” sled hockey game
Test your skills, it’s not as easy as it looks! Join the SHHS team, parents and more in this adapted game. (pants, helmet, elbow pads, gloves required to play)
Limited spots for the “pay to play” sled hockey game are available for $50. To reserve contact SHHS hockey team co-chairs Ethan Weingart or Jeff Hubbard.

Four Shaker Youth Hockey players will join the Varsity starting line on the ice at the Home Opener vs. Gilmore on November 16th for skating through the line and the National Anthem. Your names will be announced with the starting lineup.

Given the mandate put in place by the State of Ohio and cancellation of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, the event has been cancelled.
If you have already made your ticket purchase, there are a couple of options:
  1. Your ticket purchase can be transitioned into a fully tax-deductible donation to Youth Challenge.
  2. Your ticket purchase can be refunded in full. If you would like a refund, please contact Carolyn Palmer, YC’s Communications & Events Manager, at 440.892.1001 x 13 or cpalmer@youthchallengesports.comPlease let us know before April 1, 2020 if you would like a refund. After that date, your purchase will be assumed as a donation to fund Youth Challenge’s mission

Annual Benefit & Auction, YC Rocks! | In-Person Event Cancelled, Virtual Event Held on TBD Date @ Ariel International Center

Youth Challenge’s Annual Benefit & Auction’s in-person event to be held April 4, 2020 has been cancelled.  The auction, fund a need, and raffle drawing portions of the event will take place during a Virtual Benefit to be held as soon as timing feels appropriate. The date will be determined and communicated as we know more about the COVID-19 pandemic. See below for additional details!

  • While the raffle drawing will not take place on April 4, if you have already purchased a raffle ticket your purchase is still valid and you don’t need to do anything to stay in the drawing.
  • If you have already purchased a ticket for the event there are a few options. Please contact Carolyn Palmer, YC’s Communications & Events Manager, at 216.548.5338 or on or before April 1 to determine what you would like to do with your ticket purchase. After April 1, your ticket purchase will be assumed as a donation to support Youth Challenge’s mission. Ticket purchase options:
    • Each ticket you have purchased can be converted into an additional raffle ticket purchase for YC’s Cash Raffle and a $25 tax-deductible donation to Youth Challenge. The drawing will be held during the Virtual Benefit.
    • Please kindly consider making your ticket purchase a tax-deductible donation to YC. Our Annual Benefit raises approximately 25% of our operating budget.
    • Your ticket purchase can be refunded in full.
