JOB TITLE: Van Driver
SUPERVISED BY: Director of Program Services
WORK WEEK HOURS: Part Time, 12-20 hours/week (average)

BASIC FUNCTION: Transport participants with physical disabilities to and from programs in a Youth Challenge lift-equipped bus/van.

QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate should possess the following:

  1. The candidate must be a licensed driver with a good-standing driving record (generally no more than 2 points).
  2. Be friendly and comfortable around children. Direct service experience with children and/or people with physical disabilities preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide quality transportation to participants through YC’s lift-equipped vehicles.
  2. Assist Program Staff with meeting the personal needs of children with physical disabilities as needed.
  3. Assist Program Staff at programs as needed.
  4. Assist with organization of equipment and supplies as needed.

JOB TITLE: Development Intern (unpaid)
SUPERVISED BY: Communications & Events Manager
WORK WEEK HOURS: Part Time, 5-10 hours per week through Fall Semester 2022

BASIC FUNCTION: Support the Development Team through a variety of communications, development, and administrative work.

QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate should possess the following:

  1. Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in PR/Communications, Business, or related field
  2. Knowledge of computer applications, especially Microsoft Word and SharePoint
  3. Interest in writing, especially for blogs/social media
  4. Organized, attention to detail, and ability work independently
  5. Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt as needed
  6. Understanding of and passion for Youth Challenge’s mission

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Photo Archiving
    • Scan and label YC archived photos to create a digital photo album
    • Organize photos on SharePoint
  2. Marketing Support
    • Social media post scripting and planning, including image creation on Canva
    • Assist with story gathering at programs as able
    • Transcribe audio recordings from programs and write stories from audio recordings
    • Enter new stories in to the YC Story Bank on SharePoint
  3. Event Support
    • Assist with material prep for upcoming YC events
    • Execute event marketing posts/content as needed (i.e. social media)
  4. Other Development Team support as needed including answering phones, small Canva design projects, material prep, etc.
