Abbie began working at Youth Challenge in August of 2019 as the Jesuit Volunteer. She stayed on to work at YC after her year in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps and is now the Volunteer Manager at YC. As the Volunteer Manager, Abbie strives to bring together both sides of YC’s mission to ensure a quality program experience for participants with physical disabilities as well as their nondisabled peers. Abbie is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of YC’s teen volunteers as well as planning and implementing programming and providing quality program support.

Abbie received her B.A. in Elementary and Special Education from Benedictine College in 2019. She has worked in various settings within the disability field including positions in Schools, Camps, Child Development Centers, Community Integration, and Employment Services. Certifications Abbie maintains include Certified Adaptive Recreation and Sports Specialist, SafeSport certification, and Certified USA Boccia Coach.
