The Youth Challenge gang kicked off the holiday season with a special show on December 10 at Magnificat High School’s Performing Arts Center. The talented stars of the Dance and Drama Program entertained the crowd with an original production, “A Very Magical Christmas at the Mall”. Almost fifty participants and volunteers worked tirelessly to choreograph group routines for the show. Performances included the acting, dancing and performing talents of everyone involved. The result of their hard work was an entertaining and hilarious production.
After the show, the 2011 Volunteer of the Year, Steve Nock, was recognized. Nock, of Bay Village, has supported Youth Challenge in many ways since 1998. He’s been integral in the leadership of Youth Challenge for the past six years as President of the Board of Trustees, as a member of the Executive Committee, his involvement with the Capital Campaign, and as the current head of the newly formed Financial Development Team.
The evening also included a special Volunteer Recognition ceremony to honor the many teen volunteers who gave more than 9,000 hours of service to Youth Challenge in 2011. Thank you to ALL of the volunteers for everything you do!
